Colourized Classics

Check out these fantastic old shots that have had just a dash of life beautifully dripped back into them. Hard to imagine but these have been digitally recoloured by hand(mouse) using little more than a few other photos for some reference and a natural eye for colours. Surely that must be the 2013 equivalent of breaking out that 10,000 piece jigsaw of baked beans that’s been gathering dust under the stairs since 1999. In other words, I’d have no idea, no patience and probably no ability in mounting this E Everest.

I love the wee boy from the blitz, and I think Hepburn and Goebbels are absolutely heart-stopping, but obviously for quite different reasons.

Behind a Little House

Behind a Little House

Cracking stuff for those weary eyes here from Italian photographer Manuel Cosentino. This series of landscapes were taken from the exact same spot over stretch of two years. The changes in light and the weather are an incredible contrast against that little house…wonder what’s inside?

Lights in Chicago

Strikingly urban and unmistakably cold, this Lights in Chicago series from Chicago-based Japanese photographer Satoki Nagata somehow pulls through a little snippet of urban beauty through it’s innovative lighting and completely natural transparency. Fantastic ghost-like loveliness, and well worth a look through the rest of the series.

LEDscape

Gorgeous lighting installation from the Belem Cultural Centre, Lisbon. Intended to debunk the belief that LEDs aren’t quite as pretty as their filamented counterparts, I’d say they’ve just about hit the brief here.
